Our Story
In 2011, Miriam Syoum began beekeeping alongside her father, a tradition she had shared with him since the age of five. By thirteen, she was selling her own honey. Recognizing beekeeping's power to transform lives, Miriam founded Honey Le Mar to bring that same opportunity to communities across East Africa, turning a beloved family practice into a vehicle for economic stability, environmental conservation, and lasting change.

Impact Stories
Benson dreamed of earning a living through beekeeping, he even hollowed out a tree trying to attract wild bees. Through Honey Le Mar's equipment and training, he completed his first harvest and is now working toward building his own small beekeeping business.
Rechael, a small-scale farmer managing a serious health condition, was drawn to beekeeping both as a source of income and for the medicinal properties she believed honey and bee products like propolis could offer her recovery. With Honey Le Mar's support, she now earns income from her honey production, covering her medical expenses through a low-maintenance, sustainable livelihood.
At 70 years old, Paul supports his children and more than 30 grandchildren through small-scale farming. With the beekeeping equipment and training donated through Honey Le Mar, he now has an additional source of income to better provide for his family.
Martin has spent years volunteering in grassroots environmental projects, including planting bamboo along riverbanks in his community. Through Honey Le Mar, he is being trained not only in beekeeping but to help monitor and support other beneficiaries, ensuring donations create lasting impact.
